HORSE, a division of Horse Powertrain and a leader in low-emission powertrain systems, has received validation from the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) for its ambitious goal to achieve net-zero emissions across its entire value chain by 2050.

As part of its 2030 targets, HORSE is committed to reducing Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 42%, increasing its use of renewable electricity to 100%, and reducing Scope 3 emissions from its products by 25%. These measures reflect HORSE’s commitment to sustainability and its role as a transformative agent towards a decarbonised automotive industry.

In our factories, our goal to reduce carbon emissions is divided into 3 pillars:

– purchase of renewable energy
– energy efficient measures
– use of biofuels

We work to reduce the CO2 emissions of our engines to the equivalent of electric vehicles:

– improving the thermal efficiency of combustion engines
– developing hybrid solutions
– efficient batteries
– power electronics
– E-Fuels and hydrogen
