Rafael José Vázquez de la Torre studied Industrial Engineering at Universidad de Sevilla, graduating in 1995.
1995 to 2007 Started his career at Renault Group working in several positions relating to Industrial Maintenance, Manufacturing and Quality, including Quality Manager in Sevilla plant (Spain), Head of the Quality department in Choisy-le-Roi (France) and, in 2004, Supplier Quality Manager at Valladolid Motores (Spain).
2007 Head of Production, Aveiro plant (Portugal).
2009 to 2020 Deputy General Manager at the Sevilla plant, Valladolid Motores plant and Valladolid vehicle plant (Spain), then General Manager at the Valladolid vehicle plant in 2017 for the New Captur launch.
2020 General Manager at the Choisy-le-Roi plant (France).
2021 Powertrain Industrial Performance Director.
15 March 2023 Appointed HORSE Metaverse, Decarbonisation & Industrial Excellence Director, effective 1 July 2023.
